The Kearney Food Pantry will be closed if the Kearney R-1 School District is closed due to inclement weather.

How to Use the Kearney Food Pantry

You may utilize the Kearney food pantry every other week for a temporary period of time. The Kearney food pantry exists to assist you during a temporary financial need. While we can’t help you monetarily, we can provide you with some food and/or paper products and cleaning items. Your situation will be reviewed every 6 months and we will evaluate then how things are progressing in your situation.

Everyone hits a bump in the road from time to time. If you or someone your know is in need don't hesitate to call or come in. No one should go hungry. Don't let a situation get you down. We're here to help.

Our biggest resources have been the Kearney School District, churches and groups within the churches, social circles, organizations, scout groups, 4-H clubs, businesses and individuals. We're so thankful for your ongoing food drives, volunteerism, and community related efforts. We couldn't do this without you!

Here are frequently asked questions about how to volunteer and support us!

The regular hours where we need the most volunteer help are: Tuesdays from 9:30 am to 11:30 am. This is is reserved for unloading trucks and stocking shelves. The times available for servicing the needs of community members would be Tuesdays from 1:30 pm t0 4:30 pm and Thursdays from 2:30 pm to 6:00 pm.

The Kearney Price Chopper has a convenient food bin located just inside the front door. You may also drop off donations on Tuesdays from 9:30 am to 11:30 am and 1:00 am to 3:30 pm, and Thursdays from 2:00 pm – 5:30 pm.

We have a list of needs available for you to see what we have need of the most. You can view that document by clicking on the Kearney Food Pantry Needs List.

We have a lot of organizations that hold food drives for us… whether it’s at churches, or schools, social events, and even birthday parties… basically you can provide your people with our Kearney Food Pantry Needs List and then gather all the donated items and drop them off at our location.
